New Features Coming with Apple iOS 14.5 – Currently available in Beta, this latest update will see the addition of a sleuth of new features. These include crowdsourced incident reporting on Apple Maps, Airplay Support to Fitness +, a basic version of App Tracking Transparency feature, design updates to the podcast/news app and more.

TikTok Tests In Video Recipe Card – The video-sharing social platform is testing a new feature that will allow users to access recipes directly videos with a tap of button. Located above the username, once a user taps the button, they’ll be taken to a screen displaying a full recipe which they can also save to partnering platform, Whisk.

Bumble Debuts on NASDAQ – The dating app designed to put the power of making the first move in females’ hands finally debuted on the stock market. Hitting a whopping valuation of $13 Billion, making founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, the youngest female CEO to take a company public and a self-made billionaire.

Researchers Discover Clubhouse Privacy Flaws – The audio-based social platform is investigating after Stanford Internet Observatory (SIO) researchers found that user data is potentially being shared with the Chinese government, through its backend infrastructure provider, Agora.

Pinterest Adding Stories – Following on from pretty much every other social app, Pinterest will also be adding stories to its app’s homepage UI. Known as “story pins”, this feature is currently live on iOS and Android devices, but only accessible for a limited number of businesses and creators.

Instagram Restricting Reposted TikTok’s – To encourage people to create original content, the social media giant will start restricting the visibility of content recycled from rival platforms like TikTok. Another sign that Instagram is doubling up its attempt to dominate the short-form video game.
